At the same time:

Several stations are outdated, overcrowded, or no longer safe or efficient
Equipment is aging and becoming more costly to maintain
State limits on property tax growth restrict the district’s ability to fund major capital needs through its regular budget

The district has delayed these investments as long as possible. Prop 455 is about addressing these needs before they affect response times, firefighter safety, or service reliability.
